PepsiCo No Longer Using Aborted Fetal Cells

Whether you're pro-life, pro-choice, or undecided, this should still be good news.

PepsiCo, the makers of Pepsi, had been using aborted fetal cells to test their flavors. Besides the fact that it's using deceased human beings to make a soft drink taste right, it's a gross practice that should never have been allowed. (It reminds me of the Bodies Exhibit that is traveling around the U.S. At first it caused a lot of controversy because the bodies displayed in the exhibit may have come from Chinese prison labor camps.)

However, good news! PepsiCo announced that it will no longer be associated with Senomyx, the organization that used the aborted fetal cells. That means Pepsi, Gatorade, Quaker Oats, Tropicana, and Frito Lay are no longer tested on aborted babies.

  1. Hey Becca, I learned about your blog through Mrs. Collins' facebook. My older sister, Lisa (Stickler) Pham babysat you and your siblings when you were REALLY little. :)

I am so proud of what you are doing! I worked in a crisis pregnancy clinic in Chicago for a few years and saw firsthand the devastating effects that abortion has on women and their loved ones.

I'm sure you've already done a TON of research, but I wanted to pass along two more resources that were really helpful to me in counseling women. The first is "Making Abortion Rare" by David Reardon, and the second is "Women's Health After Abortion" by Elizabeth King-Cassidy and Ian Gentles. Reardon provides great insight on how to reach abortion-minded women. The second book is a study by the deVeber Institute for Bioethics and Social Research, and provides some really interesting/eye-opening stats. My copy was the 2nd edition; I'm not sure whether a new edition has been released.

In any case, I've been thinking about passing along those titles to you for over a month, and I finally remembered! If you get around to reading them, hopefully they will be as helpful to you as they were to me.

    Good luck!

    1. Thank you so much! I've never heard of either of those books, but they both sound really good. I can't wait to get my hands on them! I read Victims and Victors by David Reardon and loved it, so I'm sure I'll like it :)

Thank you so much for your comment! It was really encouraging, and I love new resources!

      God bless,
      Becca

Hello everyone! Thank you for viewing my blog. I'd like to have some guidelines for commenting, because it's very easy to get nasty on the internet without meaning to. I encourage you to comment, just remember one thing: I am a human being. I make mistakes, and I have feelings. That goes for me and all other commenters and readers and human beings. I encourage asking questions, as long as it's done respectfully.
Now please, comment away and enjoy my blog!
